Chocolatl Drink

The Frugal Gourmet Cooks American, p. 333

2 cups chicken stock or chicken broth

½ teaspoon plain cocoa powder

Tabasco to taste

½ teaspoon vanilla

½ teaspoon cinnamon

Heat the chicken stock and season it with the cocoa, Tabasco, vanilla, and cinnamon. 

Yep. Chicken broth. Like... the kind you make soup out of. Yep. Soup.

With some cocoa and some vanilla.

So it's like chicken-based hot chocolate.

With Tabasco. 

Served with Zesty Blue Cheese Burgers. And, after a couple of sips, a different drink. 

My Rating: 1/5 "The recipe said that Montezuma used to drink this in mass quantities. No wonder Cortez mopped the floor with the Aztecs. The Spanish had food that actually tasted good!"
