Peanut Butter-Chocolate Chip Bars

1 chocolate chip or yellow cake mix
2 eggs
1/3 cup vegetable oil
½ cup chunky peanut butter
1 cup chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix together cake mix, eggs, and oil. Mix in peanut butter.

Peanut butter = Sexy.

Stir in chocolate chips.

This recipe is REALLY high-density on the chocolate chips. And this is using a yellow cake mix - can you imagine using a chocolate chip one?

Pat the mixture into a 9 x 13-inch pan.

Even if a recipe for a cake or bar cookies doesn't say to flour the pan, it's usually a good idea. I mean, unless you really enjoy scrubbing stuff.

And they do mean "pat" with your hands. Using a utensil to do this will take like fifteen hours. FIFTEEN.

Bake 14-17 minutes, or until golden brown.

Behold!

Hark! Avast! Achtung!

Note: Using chunky peanut butter will make your friends and family think you spent all day chopping nuts.

My Rating: 4/5 "Peanut butter and chocolate are usually a win in my book. (Unless they're on, like, pizza or something, I suppose.) These bars are a little dry, but the chocolate is gooey and melty, which is a good source of moisture. And the cookbook author's right about the chunky peanut butter - quickest way to get nuts in cookies that I've ever seen."
