Chocolate Waffles

1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
3 egg yolks, beaten
4 tablespoons melted butter or oil
1 ½ cups milk
3 egg whites, beaten until stiff
“A bit of chocolate syrup”

Mix the dry ingredients together. I use my electric mixer for this. Mix the egg yolks, melted butter or oil, and milk together and blend into the dry mixture. Do not overmix. Fold in, most gently, the beaten egg whites.

Basic waffle batter. DONE.

Blend a bit of chocolate syrup into the basic batter and enjoy a nice change.

It's not waffles yet, but it's sure pretty!

You must use Pam spray for this one as the batter will be very rich and a bit sticky.

WAFFLE. The recipe doesn't say how to actually make the waffle, but fortunately I was cooking with people who own a waffle iron and who are semi-pro at waffle-making so I let them take the wheel and things turned out awesome.

My Rating: 4/5 "A neat little trick if you want to impress at breakfast or seduce at breakfast-for-dinner. The toppings added a lot, so if you've got whipped cream and strawberries pile 'em on!"
