Turkey Sloppy Joes with Bread & Butter Chips

Albertsons Fresh Summertime Fun, p. 15

1 pound ground turkey
1 small yellow onion, diced
1 cup tomato sauce
½ cup ketchup
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. brown sugar
2 tsp. vinegar
Salt and pepper to taste
1 jar bread and butter pickles
1 package hamburger buns (use your favorite)
Optional: Pepper jack cheese

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground turkey and onions. Stir until browned. Add tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, salt and pepper. Stir all ingredients together and cook until turkey is done, onions are soft and the sauce is nice and thick.

Now that's a thick sauce.

Heat up hamburger buns on grill or in oven. Add turkey mixture on bottom half of bun, 4 pickle chips and make sandwich.

Bonus points if you can guess which is the bottom half without looking.

Optional: add cheese.

CHEESE IS NEVER OPTIONAL.

Yummm.

My Rating: 4/5 "Delicious, and actually pretty tidy for sloppy joes. I liked the addition of the pickles and cheese. Two of them made a really filling dinner!"
