Burrito Pie

1 pound lean ground beef
1 cup chopped onions
1 (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
1 (4 ounce) can diced green chiles
½ cup nacho cheese sauce
2 (9-inch) flour tortillas
1 (16 ounce) can refried black beans
1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chiles, drained
¼ cup taco sauce


In large skillet, cook beef and onions until no longer pink; drain. Stir in taco seasoning, green chiles and cheese sauce. 

At which point it looks about like you think it would.

Place one tortilla in the bottom of a 9-inch pie pan that has been sprayed with no stick cooking spray. Spread black beans evenly over tortilla. Top with beef mixture, tomatoes and ½ cup cheese. Top with remaining tortilla, taco sauce and remaining ½ cup cheese. 

So many layers of delicious things!

Bake in preheated 350F oven 20-30 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly. 

Didn't think it would actually look like a pie, did you?

Serve with sour cream and taco sauce, if desired. 

Of course, there's no way to serve it still looking pretty. But see how much food you get with this?

My Rating: 4/5 "Wonderful to sink your teeth into. It's quite spicy, of course, but your palate gets a little vacation from the heat sometimes when you hit the tomatoes or the beans. Overall this is just unique and fun!"
