Welcome Home Sugar Cookies

1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt

In a large bowl with an electric mixer, beat butter and sugar until creamy. With mixer on low, add eggs and vanilla, until just blended. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt. Add to butter mixture, mixing until well blended.

Mix mix mix!

Divide dough in half, and shape each section into a disk. Wrap each disk in plastic wrap, and chill 1 to 2 hours or until firm enough to handle.

Cookie dough UFOs!

Preheat oven to 400F. On a lightly floured surface, roll each half of chilled dough to ¼ inch thick. Cut into shapes with 2 ½-inch cookie cutters. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

I made the cookies a little thinner than they were supposed to be and got a lot more of them that the recipe said I would. FYI, there's that.

Bake 6 to 8 minutes or until edges are firm and bottoms lightly browned. Remove cookies to wire rack to cool completely. Decorate as desired.

I created the cookies in my own image.

My Rating: 4/5 "These are just good solid legit sugar cookies. Make 'em to feed a crowd and enjoy the time decorating them. Some quality cookie time might be just what you need."
