Garlic Shrimp Scampi

Garlic Texas toast
1 stick sweet butter
1 – 2 tablespoon fresh or minced garlic
2 lbs large, fresh cleaned shrimp or prawns
3 tablespoons olive oil
¼ cup white wine
Lemon wedges

Follow toast Heating Instructions on package. Melt butter in large skillet in medium heat; add oil, garlic and wine. Add prawns and saute until firm and lightly pink.

Delicious sea bugs.

Place several slices of Texas toast on plate and pour the shrimp scampi on top. Squeeze lemon over and serve.

That's certainly not something you see every day.

My Rating: 3/5 "In theory this has everything going for it: shrimp? garlic? lemon juice? tons of butter? These are all good ideas. But serving it over Texas toast is a bridge too far. It's not that the toast is bad - it's garlicky and awesome. But after you dump the buttery sauce on top it devolves into this horrible bread mush that's uncomfortable to eat. So if you like scampi then make this sauce recipe, because it's really good, but maybe leave the garlic bread for another day."
