Savory Dr Pepper Montreal Steak

1 cup Dr Pepper
¼ cup oil
2 tablespoons Montreal steak seasoning
2 tablespoons soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce
1 ½ pounds boneless beef sirloin, flank or skirt steak

If you're shopping at the granola store, you will end up with Dr. Becker instead.

Mix Dr Pepper, oil, stead seasoning and soy sauce in small bowl. Reserve 2 tablespoons for brushing. Place steak in large resealable plastic bag or glass dish. Add remaining marinade; toss to coat.

Refrigerate 1 hour or longer for extra flavor. Remove steak from marinade. Discard any remaining marinade.

Grill steak over medium heat 6 to 7 minutes per side or until desired doneness, brushing with reserved marinade halfway through cooking.

Skirt steak was cheaper, and it worked great!

Medium rare and delicious.

My Rating: 4/5 "The marinade gives this a bit of a dark, earthy tone, which is not what I expected from Dr Pepper and seasoning salt. I used Worcestershire and it was nice. It's not an overwhelming flavor - you can still very much enjoy the natural flavor of the meat. I'm not very experienced with steak, but this was a nice way to cut my teeth."
