Warm Blue Cheese Dip

1 (8 ounce) package Neufchatel cheese, softened
5 ounces crumbled reduced fat blue cheese
½ cup milk
4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
2 tablespoons finely chopped green onions
½ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ cup hickory smoked almonds
Pita chips, assorted fresh vegetables

My almonds weren't hickory smoked, but my bacon was. It all worked out in the end flavor-wise.

In a small saucepan over low heat, combine Neufchatel, blue cheese, milk, bacon, green onions and garlic powder.

A very exciting set of ingredients!

Cook, stirring frequently, until cheese is melted.

...that looks much, much less exciting when you mix it all up.

Transfer to a 1-quart slow cooker on low to keep warm.

Top with chopped almonds and serve with pita chips and assorted vegetables.

But that almond garnish really does a lot to spiff it up!

My Rating: 5/5 "Loooove this. What a perfect blend of smoky, savory flavors with a nice cheesy undertone to tie everything together! Top it off with the satisfying crunch of the almonds and you're going home happy."
