Carrot-Cheese Salad

Old Amish Recipes, p. 20

2 cups grated carrots

2 cups shredded cabbage

½ cup chopped celery

½ cup raisins

¾ cup grated cheese (Cheddar or American)

½ cup sugar

½ cup cider vinegar

½ tsp. salt

1 cup sour cream

Combine vegetables, raisins and cheese. 

Very nice consistency!


In bowl combine sugar, vinegar, salt and sour cream and pour over salad.

Boom!

My Rating: 3/5 "I really liked the consistency and flavors of the dry ingredients mixed together. Adding the dressing introduced this weird acidic component, though, that I wasn't the biggest fan of. If anyone wants to give it a try dry, let me know how it goes."
