Creamy Macaroni and Cheese

PET

No-stick cooking spray

4 tablespoons butter, divided

¼ cup dry breadcrumbs

¼ teaspoon paprika

2 tablespoons all purpose flour

1 (12 fl. oz.) can evaporated milk

½ cup water

½ teaspoon salt

2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese

1 cup cubed pasteurized prepared cheese product

2 cups dry small elbow macaroni, cooked and drained (4 cups cooked)

HEAT oven to 350F. Coat 1-1/2-quart baking dish with no-stick cooking spray. Microwave 2 tablespoons butter in small microwave-safe bowl on HIGH 30 seconds or until melted. Stir in breadcrumbs and paprika.

MELT remaining 2 tablespoons butter in 4-quart saucepan over medium heat. Add flour, stirring constantly, until bubbly and lightly browned. Stir in evaporated milk, water and salt. Bring to a boil over medium-low heat, stirring constantly. Stir in cheese and cooked macaroni until blended.

Now that IS some creamy mac 'n' cheese!

Pour into prepared baking dish. Sprinkle evenly with breadcrumb mixture.

BAKE 25 to 30 minutes or until bubbly and light golden brown.

I'm not the most talented bread-crumb sprinkler.

My Rating: 4/5 "This has great consistency and a ton of flavor compared to most baked macaroni and cheese dishes. The paprika in the bread crumbs is an especially nice touch. Quality stuff!"
