Chocolate Avocado Mousse

2 medium avocados

3 Tbs. cacao powder

1 Tbs. vanilla

1-2 Tbs. honey (or coconut nectar)

1 tsp. cinnamon

2-3 Tbs. unsweetened almond milk, optional

Combine avocados, cacao powder, vanilla, honey (or coconut nectar), and cinnamon in food processor, and blend to desired consistency. Add unsweetened almond milk, if desired, for a fluffier mousse.



My Rating: 1/5 "I know this is supposed to be some kind of healthy-people dessert delicacy, but we took one bite, made horrible faces, and quit. The recipe is problematic to begin with because it doesn't blend well; I ended up with a bunch of chunks of avocado in my final product. The flavor of the avodaco doesn't get masked at all. It's just weird to be eating avocado alongside chocolate, honey, and cinnamon. Now, after we rejected the original recipe my partner went back and added milk and maple syrup and made something edible that the baby seems to enjoy. But the original version? Blech."
