Spicy Hot Chocolate

Heritage Cook Book, p. 41

4 cups milk

5 1-ounce squares semisweet chocolate

6 inches stick cinnamon

1 teaspoon vanilla

In saucepan combine milk, chocolate, and cinnamon sticks.

Since the chocolate only came in 4 oz. packages I just added a little cocoa powder to make up the difference.

Cook, stirring constantly, just till chocolate melts. Remove from heat and remove cinnamon. Stir in vanilla. Beat mixture with rotary beater until frothy. Serve in warmed mugs with cinnamon stick stirrers, if desired.

Gotta love a hot chocolate on a cold evening.

My Rating: 4/5 "I don't know why it's called Spicy, but the cinnamon in this is really really nice. I downed two mugs of this stuff very quickly. The baby liked it too!"
