Pepper Steak

KFYR “The Way to a Man’s Heart” Cookbook, p. 88

¼ cup seasoned flour

1 ½ pounds steak

2 tablespoons shortening

1 can tomato soup

½ cup water

1 green pepper, cut into strips

1 medium onion, sliced

1 clove garlic, minced

1 tablespoon lemon juice

4 slices lemon

Lemony fresh ingredients!

Pound flour into steak, brown meat in shortening, add rest of ingredients, cover, cook over low heat 45 min or until tender, stir often.

It's prettier going in than it is coming out.

But what's attractive in the end is the awesome flavor of the sauce!

My Rating: 4/5 "This is wonderful sauce. Everything adds up well and the lemon peps it up with just the right amount of zing! The beef itself wasn't much to write home about, but that may be because I bought cheap cuts. You can experiment and see for yourself what might work better."
