Tex-Mex Pizza

Great Value

1 lb. ground beef

1 (1.25 oz.) pkg. taco seasoning mix

1 (16 oz.) pkg. pasteurized processed cheese product, diced

3 Tbsp. milk

1 (13.8 oz.) tube pizza crust

¼ cup pizza sauce

2/3 cup shredded fiesta blend cheese

1 (8 oz.) bag shredded lettuce

1 tomato, small diced

1 (8 oz.) tub sour cream

2 cups medium picante sauce

As a hipster Millennial I hate to admit that I love refrigerated bread in a tube, but I really do.

Preheat oven to 375F. Brown beef in skillet on medium heat; drain off fat.

Add seasoning mix according to directions, add cheese product and milk to skillet and heat through until melted.

Incoming Velveeta!

Unroll pizza crust on greased baking sheet, spread pizza sauce on dough.

I'm not sure why the tomato sauce is even there, but at least there isn't much of it.

Top pizza crust with meat mixture and fiesta blend cheese.

Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

Finish pizza with shredded lettuce and diced tomato.

Garnish with sour cream and serve with salsa.

The bloop of sour cream brings it all together.

My Rating: 4/5 "There's something about the combination of fake cheese and refrigerated bread dough that comes together seamlessly. In this case, the dose of spice with the salsa and creamy goodness with the sour cream adds even more fun to the overall effect. My partner maintains that he doesn't like Velveeta but he gobbled this up and went back for seconds!"
