This place billed itself as a safe haven for queer and gender issues, which I loved to see

I went to the 6th Street store, which I gather is a bit different from the downtown one
This coffee shop is situated just off of one of the main roads in Vincennes, adjacent to a neighborhood of cute little bungalows. I'd imagine they're catering to the students from Vincennes University at this location. The exterior of the building is unremarkable, and I wasn't sure I was in the right place until I got really close to it. The parking lot wasn't the roomiest, but folks were making do.

And a consistent color scheme throughout!
This place has mad cozy coffee shop vibes. There isn't a ton of seating, but what there is has options for both comfy conversations and work/dining. Everything felt welcoming as soon as I stepped through the door. Things were pretty bustling while I was there and the parking lot was packed, so I got the impression it was a popular destination in that area of town.

There were people coming in and out the entire time I was there, so this was a rare moment where I could see the whole menu
This seems to be a shop that's designed more for gathering and working than for a gastronomic tour de force experience. They had an adequate array of coffees and non-coffee drinks. I was looking for something super-distinctive on the menu and didn't see much except for a lavender latte (see below). Their sandwich offerings are a little more creative, though, and I was excited to try one.

Lavender Latte and Honey Ham and Cheese with chips and a pickle
I was not thrilled with my meal. The sandwich was all right, although a bit dry and I didn't get the sweet flavor I expected from something billed with the word "Honey." The latte was weird. Like, lavender flavoring is tricky, and it's usually nice to cut it with something or use it judiciously. This latte had no such delicacy to it. I got a small one and I couldn't make myself finish it. There must be good stuff at Impressed or there wouldn't have been as many people coming to grab food from there, but I didn't order whatever it was that keeps the clientele coming back.
Kid-Friendly: 2/5
I came to Impressed solo, but if I'd had my kids with me I think they would have been a little much for the space. People were there studying and needing quiet. Since space was limited I would feel bad if my kids got loose and started ambling around. The menu didn't have the greatest picky-kid selection.
All of which is to say this is a nice haven for adults.
Would Eat Again?: Yellow Light
I love that this place exists, especially for the college students who can make the most of its cozy working atmosphere. Small towns can be nervous places for queer folks, so the fact that Impressed made a big deal of being queer-friendly was, well, a big deal. But my dining experience wasn't great. I also had a hard time because the person taking orders seemed to be on a bit of a brain vacation, and I wonder if that had an impact on the quality of my food. I would enjoy hearing votes in favor of this place, but if I find myself back in Vincennes again I might explore other options.
