I can understand why they close at 4, because this isn't a spot that's going to get much traffic in the evening.

Yee-Haw Breakfast!
Morning Farmhouse and Slice (or "Morning Breakfast and Grill" as it's called on Google Maps) is situated in strip mall that's in a mostly residential area, next to a gas station and kitty-corner to an elementary school. The overall building has seen better days, but the owners have done their best to rev up the outside of the restaurant with country-fried vaquero decorations. I hope their business takes off soon so they can get a nicer sign, because their logo is cool and it would be neat to see them show it off more publicly. There's ample parking, which is nice, and it's definitely walkable for folks in the neighborhood.

Go Colts!
I was impressed when we walked in. The tables were shiny and overall the furniture looked new and stylish. The walls were covered in interesting textures and themed pieces of flair. The whole shebang felt very rustic-farmhouse-meets-modern-industrial and they made that synthesis work!

Green Chilaquiles with Steak
This menu has a great balance of picky-eater favorites and adventurous twists on familiar dishes. They do cool things with French toast and sandwiches. You can get neat juice blends that have a Continental vibe. My favorite part, though, was the Tex-Mex breakfast stuff. I got chilaquiles (see above), but they also had breakfast enchiladas and burritos and rancheros. My dining companions were unadventurous white people, but they still found multiple options of things they might want to try.

This was an odd assortment for a fruit cup, I thought. (There were grapes in the bottom.)

House Omelet with Ham
My chilaquiles were a hearty home run. I kept eating far beyond when I had gotten full because they were so good. My mom and aunt were less impressed with their (more knee-jerk) breakfasty stuff. They said it was greasy. They're picky eaters. To be fair, my mom's omelet did the weird thing with the criss-crossed Kraft singles that I saw in a different restaurant from a previous review, and there wasn't any cheese on the inside of it. I was also caught off-guard by the selection in my fruit cup (above) but to be fair it was all fresh and tasty. Overall I have a feeling the Tex-Mex stuff is more lovingly prepared, which is fine by me because that's what I went there to enjoy.
Kid-Friendly: 5/5

That's a kid-friendly menu if I've ever seen one.
I didn't have my kids with me on this trip, but I'm 100 percent sure they would have loved it. Not only did the kids' menu include pancakes and waffles, but they were, like, interesting pancakes and waffles. No matter whether your littles prefer sweet or salty they'll find something fun to try here. (And the restaurant was empty enough when we went that if my kids had been there and decided to kick up a ruckus it wouldn't have been the most embarrassing thing in the world.)
Would Eat Again?: Green Light
My picky-eater relatives didn't think they would go back, but after those chilaquiles and that carrot juice blend I was sold. I want Morning Farmhouse to do well despite their location, so I hope y'all reading this give them a try. I recommend ordering the menu items you can tell they took pride in crafting, because that's where you're going to taste the happiness this restaurant puts into their work. And take your squirrely littles for birthday cake pancakes!
