Taste of Home Simple & DeliciousAugust/September 2010, p. 26
1 lb.
ground beef
1-1/3
cups salsa
1 can
(10-3/4 oz.) condensed tomato soup, undiluted
1
Tbsp. brown sugar
8
hamburger buns, split
In a large skillet, cook beef over medium heat until no
longer pink; drain.
How NOW, brown cow? |
Look! It's from Lexington! :) |
Draining in a colander - much easier than not draining in a colander. |
Stir in the salsa, soup and brown sugar.
Only slightly harder than pre-made sloppy joe mix. |
And what a payoff for the effort! |
Cover and simmer
for 10 minutes or until heated through.
Post-simmer, lookin' like class. |
Spoon ½ cup onto each bun.
Screw that. Spoon however much you want. They gotta be sloppy-sloppy. |
Like this. |
My Rating: 4/5 " Possibly the best sloppy joes I've ever had. Definitely an improvement on the stereotypical cafeteria glop - a nice, juicy flavor that's moist and meaty."
