Almond Butter Cookies

Baking Classics

1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup butter
1 egg
2-1/2 cups flour
2/3 cup sliced almonds
½ teaspoon vanilla
½ teaspoon baking soda

Preheat oven to 350F. Cream sugar and butter; add egg and vanilla. 

It kind of looks like fluffy scrambled eggs when you get done.

Blend flour, baking soda and almonds. 

...and then like really screwed up scrambled eggs.


Drop by teaspoonfuls onto lightly greased cookie sheet. 

They'll expand a little, but not a lot.


Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from baking sheet to cool. 

Keep an eye out. Burned cookies are a tragedy.

But not-burned cookies? SO GOOD.
