Baking Classics

granulated sugar
1 cup
butter
1 egg
2-1/2
cups flour
2/3
cup sliced almonds
½
teaspoon vanilla
½
teaspoon baking soda
Preheat oven to 350F. Cream sugar and butter; add egg and
vanilla.
| It kind of looks like fluffy scrambled eggs when you get done. |
Blend flour, baking soda and almonds.
| ...and then like really screwed up scrambled eggs. |
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto
lightly greased cookie sheet.
| They'll expand a little, but not a lot. |
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from baking
sheet to cool.
| Keep an eye out. Burned cookies are a tragedy. |
| But not-burned cookies? SO GOOD. |
