Taste of Home Simply Tempting November
2010, p. 59
3
ounces fat-free cream cheese
¼ cup
chopped fresh or frozen cranberries,
thawed
1
tablespoon chopped green chilies
1-1/2
teaspoons honey
1
teaspoon Louisiana-style hot sauce
4
flour tortillas (6 inches)
1 cup
diced turkey breast
In a small bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Stir in
the chopped cranberries, green chilies, honey and hot sauce until blended.
I halved the recipe to just make one for myself. |
All I could find were dried cranberries, but they did the job just swimmingly! |
Spread over one side of each tortilla.
Try to get the cranberries evenly spaced. It's more fun to eat that way. |
Place turkey on two tortillas; top with
the remaining tortillas.
Turkey, turkey cold cuts, close enough. |
Cook quesadillas in a large nonstick skillet over medium
heat for 2-3 minutes on each side or until lightly browned. Cut into wedges.
And! Total amazingness! |
My Rating: 5/5 "When I first read the ingredient list, I could not figure out for the life of me how cream cheese, honey, and hot sauce were going to mix and come out tasting good. But it's a WONDERFUL combination! And the turkey adds a nice, smoky sort of undertone, and the spice is a zesty accent that gives the overall flavor some pop! I promise that if you're into fun spins on quesadillas, this is well worth your time."
