Taste of Home Dinner on a Dime, p. 116
2
medium green peppers, julienned
1
small onion, sliced
4
garlic cloves, minced, divided
1
tablespoon olive oil
2 cups
cooked sirloin or round steak (3/4
pound), thinly sliced
½
teaspoon salt, optional
1/8
teaspoon pepper
¼ cup
butter, softened
4
French or Italian sandwich rolls,
split and toasted
I sacrificed health for speed when I cooked the steak. I'm only a little ashamed. |
Chop chop chop! |
The buns gave us a great opportunity to use our new toaster oven! |
In a large skillet, saute the green peppers, onion and half
of the garlic in oil until vegetables are tender.
One whiff of this and suddenly you're famished. |
Add the steak, salt if
desired and pepper; heat through.
Blend butter and remaining garlic; spread over cut side of
rolls.
Garlic butter is officially one of the best things ever. We're sure it's going to make repeat appearances at our table. |
Place steak mixture on bottom halves, replace roll tops.
YUMMMMMMMMM. |
My Rating: 4/5 "The garlic butter makes this already-great combination of flavors a real treat. There's a wonderful variety of textures, too. It's a smiiiidge greasy, but well worth the experience regardless. Enjoy!"
