2 cups
sugar
¾ cup
unsalted butter, softened
1 egg
2 cups all-purpose
flour
1
teaspoon baking powder
¼
teaspoon salt
Water
Heat oven to 375F. Combine 1 cup sugar and ¾ cup butter in
large bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy. Add egg;
continue beating until well mixed. Reduce speed to low; add flour, baking
powder and salt. Beat until well mixed.
Not owning a mixer made this part a little rough. Eventually I gave up on the mixing spoon and kneaded it with my hands. |
Place remaining 1 cup sugar in small bowl. Shape dough into
1-inch balls. Dip top of each ball in water, then in sugar. Place 2 inches
apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
The little garnish on the top is a fun variation from the generic sugar cookie! |
Bake for 8 to 14 minutes or until edges are
very lightly browned.
Using Sugar in the Raw made the final product quite pretty, in my humble opinion. |
My Rating: 3/5 "They're sugar cookies - they're pretty sugar cookies, but in the end they're just sugar cookies. That said, when you have a crowd to feed it's all about quantity for cheap, and this is a good recipe to achieve that!"
