1 lb.
bulk country sausage (mild or hot), cooked, crumbled and drained
½ loaf
of Hawaiian round bread, sliced 1 inch thick
6 eggs,
beaten
1 cup
milk
Salt and
black pepper, to taste
1 ½ cups
(6 oz.) Colby Jack cheese
Now that's some Hawaiian bread! |
Preheat oven to 350F. Grease a 9 x 9 baking dish. Arrange
bread over bottom of dish.
This takes some ripping and stuffing, but it does all fit with the right Tetris-ness. |
Whisk eggs and milk in mixing bowl until well
blended. Season with salt and pepper. Pour half of egg mixture over bread.
Sprinkle with half of sausage and half of cheese. Add remaining egg mixture.
As always, I recommend using the house sausage blend from a local grocery. I used the one from Kessler's and it was great! |
Sprinkle with remaining sausage and cheese. Bake 20 to 30 minutes or until eggs
are set and top is golden brown. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
You can SEE how delicious it is. You can SEE it. |
My Rating: 5/5 "Loved. This. So. Much. It's the perfect blend of sweet and savory and meaty and bready. Breakfast? Sure! Brunch? Absolutely! Any other time? Do it! You will wear every pound you gain from eating this as a badge of honor."
