¾ cup
sugar
½ cup
butter or margarine
1 egg
½ cup
sesame seed
2 cups
all-purpose flour
1
teaspoon baking powder
Toasted
sesame seed (optional)
In a large bowl cream together the sugar and butter, Beat in
egg; add sesame seed.
Sooooo many sesame seeds! |
Stir together flour, baking powder, and ½ teaspoon salt.
Stir into creamed mixture. Shape into 8x2x2-inch log. Wrap dough in waxed paper
and chill till firm, at least 2 hours.
All dressed up with nowhere to go. (I used plastic wrap instead of waxed paper.) |
Cut into ¼-inch slices.
This takes some elbow grease - they get pretty firm in the fridge. |
Bake on
ungreased cookie sheet at 350F for 12 to 15 minutes. (If desired, before baking
press toasted sesame seed into the tops of cookies.)
Done! Ready for class. |
My Rating: 4/5 "These are great! The sesame seeds add a nice light crunch to the basic sugar cookie. They were a hit with my students when I took them to class!"
