Talk About Good!, p. 75
1
lb. ground round
1
can tomatoes
1
can Veg-All
1
tsp. salt
1
tsp. pepper
1
large onion, chopped
1
small can V-8
1
Tbsp. chili powder
½
tsp. garlic salt
1
Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
8
or 9 c. water
This was my first rodeo with Veg-All. I felt so retro. |
Crumble meat in large boiler. Add chopped onions, salt
and pepper and simmer in water that more than covers until meat and onions are
cooked. Add tomatoes, V-8 juice, chili powder, garlic salt, Worcestershire
sauce and more water.
Nice and rich! |
Cook over low heat about an hour. Very good with corn
bread.
We ate ours with Gutted Mushrooms with Bacon and Spinach and quinoa, which was also very good. |
My Rating: 4/5 "This is loads more flavorful than your average veggie soup. The beef gets a nice consistency as it boils and compliments the seasonings well. I could have handled more vegetables, but that said the broth was interesting enough on its own."
