12 ounces uncooked rigatoni
3 cups fresh broccoli florets
1 medium red bell pepper, chopped
1 package (12 ounces) Italian style chicken
sausage, sliced
½ cup Italian dressing
Grated Romano or Parmesan cheese
Just this chicken sausage by itself was delicious. |
Cook rigatoni according to package directions in a
large saucepan; add broccoli during the last 3 minutes of cooking time. In a
large skillet, combine sausage, red bell pepper and Italian dressing; cook over
medium heat until heated through.
I don't know that I'm really sold on Italian dressing as a hot pasta sauce. |
Drain pasta and broccoli; transfer to a large
bowl. Add sausage mixture; toss to combine. Sprinkle with cheese.
Look out for rigatoni! It's big! |
My Rating: 3/5 "This is one of those cases of a group of ingredients that are delicious by themselves but really weird when you mix them together. The flavors just don't add up. Now the textures? They're great - this is really satisfying to eat. But the flavor just hits you in a weird place. Maybe give this a shot with a red sauce. (That's right. I hate red sauce, but I'd recommend using it over dumping Italian dressing on hot pasta.)
