1 ½ tsp. minced garlic
2 Tbsp. olive oil
1 tsp. dried basil
1 tsp. sugar
1 (28 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
Salt
Ground black pepper
1 (16 oz.) pkg. rotini
1 (8 oz.) pkg. shredded part-skim
mozzarella cheese
In a large skillet over medium heat, saute garlic in
oil until tender, about 2 minutes.
Stir in basil, sugar and crushed tomatoes; season with
salt and pepper and cook 15 to 20 minutes, until slightly thickened.
And enjoy the happy pasta sauce smells. |
While sauce is cooking; cook pasta according to the directions on the box.
Mix pasta and sauce in a bowl, top with cheese.
Yes. Yes, that's a whole package of cheese. |
Serve with a salad and carrot sticks.
Look at ALL THAT DELICIOUS CHEESE. |
My Rating: 4/5 "This is a pretty generic pasta-and-red-sauce dish with the exception of the fact that it's so wonderfully cheesy. That said, if you want generic pasta and red sauce (there's a mood for that), this is a really satisfying way to get it. You get what you'd expect, and that's very enjoyable."
