Ruby Ann’s Down Home Trailer Park Cookbook, p. 41
½ cup pancake syrup
½ cup pineapple juice
3 tablespoons vinegar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon dry mustard
Package of wienies (cut each wienie into
three pieces)
Stir everything but the wienies into a pot and place on
the stove. Stir till it gets thick and starts to bubble. Add the wienies and
cook for 8 minutes, stirrin’ occasionally.
At first it seems like just a normal sauce on some hot dogs. |
Then it gets THICK. |
Served with some fajita rice from the freezer section. |
My Rating: 3/5 "The meaty weenies are very nice and the sauce is tasty. The texture leaves a little bit to be desired, though, probably because there's a monster amount of corn starch in here and it makes the sauce so thick it could probably stand up and salute if it wanted to. I'd recommend trying to halve the cornstarch and see if that keep the tasty aspects of the dish without being quite so weird."
