Ruby Slippers Cookbook, p. 109
1 (8 ounce) package of cream cheese,
softened
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup chopped golden raisins
1 small can crushed pineapple, well drained
and squeezed
1 loaf of sandwich bread
Mayonnaise
Chopping raisins was sticky and strange, but it gave the final product a nice texture. |
Mix all ingredients and spread on sandwich bread that has first been spread with mayonnaise.
Lay it on thick! It's delicious! |
Trim off crust and cut into halves or
quarters.
Fact: Sandwiches taste better when cut diagonally. |
Note: Use scant cups so the mixture won’t be too thick.
My Rating: 4/5 "It's like ambrosia, but on a sandwich, which is a pretty good deal. I might speculate that I'd like it better by itself, actually, than on bread, but either way it's sweet and filling and memorable."
