Cajun-style Iced Tea Cocktail

225 Magazine

2 Tbsp. fresh julienned orange peel

2 Tbsp fresh julienned lemon peel

1 tsp. whole cloves

4 cups boiling water

2 tea bags (black or Earl Grey work well)

¼ cup Louisiana honey

6 oz. bourbon

Place the orange peel, lemon peel and cloves in the bottom of a pot and pour in the 4 cups of boiling water.

This combination of things smells SO good.

Add the tea bags and allow everything to steep for 10 minutes.

I used a nice white tea.

Remove the tea bags and pour in the honey. Place the tea into the refrigerator to chill.

Fill 6 cups with ice and pour a shot of bourbon into each glass.

Pour the spiced tea over each glass and garnish with the lemon and orange slices.

Aaaaand I forgot the garnish.

My Rating: 4/5 "The whole mulled-iced-tea vibe is really refreshing here. It's deep and rich but still summery. It also packs a whallop alcohol-wise! (Oddly, I tried making this again but without so much booze and it wasn't as good. The bourbon is a necessary component of the flavor here.)"
