Animal Cookie Caramel Snack Mix

4 cups cheese puffs

2 cups animal crackers

2 cups teddy bear chocolate graham snacks

2 cups crispy corn funnel snacks

2 cups pretzel sticks

1 ½ cups firmly packed light brown sugar

1 cup butter

2 tablespoons water

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

In a large roasting pan, combine cheese puffs, animal cookies, funnel snacks and pretzels; set aside.

This would probably be tasty to eat just by itself.

In large saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, butter, water and salt. 

The makings of a delicious caramel.

Cook, stirring occasionally, until bubbly around edges. Continue cooking 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Remove from heat; stir in baking soda and vanilla. Pour over snack mix; stir until well coated.

Bake in a preheated 300F oven 15 minutes, stirring half way through. Remove from oven and spread on wax paper. Quickly separate; let cool. 

You really do need to separate it. Otherwise it all just globs together.

Store in airtight container.
