Land O Lakes Cookbook ‘79
8 crisp corn taco shells
8 wieners, heated and drained
1 c. prepared taco sauce
1 c. shredded cheese with jalapeno peppers
½ c. shredded lettuce
½ c. diced (1/4”) tomato
Preheat oven: 375F.
In 12x8x2” baking dish place taco shells side by side open side up. Place 1 heated wiener in each taco shell.
I was SO discombobulated by this. |
Top each wiener with 1 tbsp. taco sauce and 2 tbsp. shredded cheese. Bake hear center of 375F oven for 10 to 15 min. or until cheese is melted and sandwich is hot.
YOU HEARD THAT IT CALLED A TACO A SANDWICH. The debate is officially over. |
Meanwhile, combine lettuce and tomato.
Easy enough! |
To serve, top hot sandwich with 1 tbsp. lettuce/tomato mixture and 1 tbsp additional taco sauce, if desired.
TIP: 9’ sq baking pan can be used in place of 12x8x2”
baking dish.
It's a taco with a hot dog in it! |
My Rating: 4/5 "Once you get over the fact that it's an unexpected combination of foods this is actually pretty fun. You'll want a good taco sauce and a nice big hot dog to round out the effect. It's a little difficult to keep the shell intact while you're eating it, but there's no harm in getting a little sauce on your fingers."
