Italian Tomato Appetizer Pizza

Essential Everyday

1 (13.8 ounce) package refrigerate pizza crust dough

2/3 cup mayonnaise

1 (8 ounce) package fancy cut Italian style cheese blend, divided

¾ cup fancy cut Parmesan cheese, divided

2 teaspoons Italian seasoning, divided

1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

1-2 medium tomatoes, thinly sliced

Place pizza dough on a greased 14-inch pizza pan. Press dough from center to edge of pan, making edges thicker than the center; set aside.

In small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ½ cup Italian cheese, ½ cup Parmesan cheese, 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning and garlic powder.

The beginnings of a very unusual white pie.

Spread over entire pizza; top with remaining Italian cheese.

Lay tomato slices over cheese; season tomatoes with salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle entire pizza with remaining 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning and remaining ¼ cup Parmesan cheese.

Happy smiling extra tomato!

Bake in a preheated 400F oven 15-18 minutes or until cheese is melted and golden brown. Remove from oven and cut into appetizer squares.

NOTE: Pizza can be assembled up to 1 hour ahead and refrigerated until ready to bake.

I don't know about this "appetizer" business - we cut them into regular-size pieces and had dinner.

My Rating: 4/5 "I'm always looking for pizzas without red sauce, but mayonnaise came out of left field as a substitute. For better or for worse, it was good! The overall effect of the pizza is that it's creamy and satisfying. Even my pizza snob partner was into it - wanted to give it a 5/5! I think it's just a titch rich, but still awesome."
