Chocolate Bliss Cheesecake

Baker’s

18 chocolate sandwich cookies, finely crushed (about 1-1/2 cups)

2 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted

3 pkg. (8 oz. each) cream cheese, softened

¾ cup sugar

1 tsp. vanilla

2 pkg. (4 oz. each) semi sweet chocolate, melted, cooled slightly

3 eggs

Heat oven to 325F.

Mix cookie crumbs and butter; press onto bottom of 9-inch springform pan.

I got Great Value brand Oreos, and I have to confess that I kind of like the "Twist and Shout" name better.

Beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla with mixer until blended. Add melted chocolate; mix well.

Gotta get all that goodness together!

Add eggs, 1 at a time, mixing on low speed after each just until blended. Pour over crust.

Bake 55 min. to 1 hour or until center is almost set. Run knife around rim of pan to loosen cake; cook before removing rim. Refrigerate 4 hours.

Special extra: Garnish with powdered sugar and fresh strawberries and/or raspberries just before serving.

I do heartily recommend the berries.

My Rating: 4/5 "I'm not normally a huge fan of cheesecake, to be honest - I think it's a little too rich and the dairy is overwhelming. But this one? Not so much! The chocolately goodness cuts both the richness and the dairy effect in a really nice way. Silky texture plus good flavor plus Oreo crust equals a heck of a nice dessert."
