PB&J Oatmeal Smoothie

The Frugal Foodie Cookbook, p. 17

½ cup old fashioned rolled oats

1 cup milk

2 tablespoons peanut butter

¼ cup fresh raspberries OR 2 tablespoons raspberry jam

½ cup ice

Mix in a blender until smooth. 

Yep. That's all the oatmeal in the bottom, there.


Sweeten with sugar or honey, to taste. Makes 1 large or 2 small servings.

I doubled the recipe for two large servings.

My Rating: 3/5 "I get that oatmeal is healthy and that this is meant to be a stand-alone breakfast drink. But like... I was chewing a smoothie. I had to stop after each drink and chew my smoothie. My brain couldn't get past that weird sensation and it made drinking it take a long time. Tasty, though, if you can get past the texture."
