1 cup gluten free baking mix
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1 large egg
2 tablespoons melted butter or oil
1 cup milk
½ teaspoon vanilla (optional)
Someone gave me some hazlenut oil a while ago and I thought this would be a good recipe to test it in. Unfortunately I couldn't taste much of a difference. But isn't it cute?
WHISK together baking mix, baking powder, and sugar.
MIX in egg, melted butter or oil, milk, and vanilla.
Allow batter to rest for 10 minutes, to thicken.
POUR batter onto preheated waffle iron. Cook until very
little steam escapes the iron and waffles remove easily; gluten free waffles
take longer to bake than conventional waffles.
I brought in my partner to do the griddle part, because I'm pretty sure making waffles is a mandatory part of the "dad" job description. |
My Rating: 4/5 "There's nothing particularly interesting about these waffles, but I feel like problem-free waffles are like an automatic 4. I mean... WAFFLES, right? Plus bonus points for the gluten-free angle."
