Cook Smart 2005, p. 39
2 cups chocolate chips
1 2/3 cup peanut butter chips
1 ¾ cup creamy or chunky peanut butter
2 cups chow mein noodles
1 cup chopped peanuts (optional)
1 cup raisins (optional)
Chopping peanuts just feels good. I don't know how else to describe it.
Line cookie sheet with wax paper. Place chocolate chips, peanut butter chips and peanut butter in large microwave safe bowl.
And there are so, so many peanuts involved in this recipe. |
Microwave on high 1 minute. Stir – continue heating 30 seconds at a time,
stirring after each heating until chips are completely melted and mixture is
smooth when stirred. Stir in noodles, peanuts, and raisins. Drop by heaping
spoons on cookie sheet. Refrigerate for about 40 minutes. Store in
refrigerator.
Welp. That's a new one! |
My Rating: 4/5 "The flavor here is a lot of fun. There's oodles of peanutty things happening, but just enough chocolate to cut them and make things satisfyingly sweet. The texture is a bit weird with the chow mein noodles - they're stuff, especially when they clump together. Also they're not kidding about storing them in the fridge. These mofos get a little melty if they're at room temperature too long. But overall, this was super fun to try!"
