Albertsons It’s a Spring Thing, p. 26
1 frozen
deep dish pie crust
½ (8
oz) package cream cheese, softened
¼
granulated sugar
¼
teaspoon vanilla extract
½ (8
oz) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
16 oz
fresh strawberries, cut in half
Make the most of strawberry season while it lasts. It's one of the best times of the year. :) |
Prepare pie crust according to empty baked crush package
direction; cool.
In the case of this one, poke it and bake it. |
In medium mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar and
vanilla; mix with electric mixer until well combined and smooth.
My "electric mixer." |
Add in whipped topping and continue mixing until well
combined and fluffy.
See? It gets the job done. |
Spread into cooled pie crust.
The crust I used turned out a little dry and over-flaky. Chose your store-bought pastry wisely. |
Top with strawberries, cut side down.
STRAWBERRIES! |
Refrigerate until
ready to serve.
CHILLED STRAWBERRIES! |
NOW YOU GET TO EAT THE STRAWBERRIES! |
My Rating: 4/5 "A great summer treat. It's chilly and tart, and the pie provides a nice backdrop for the strawberry that really lets the fruit's flavor shine through."
