Albertsons It’s a Spring Thing, p. 26
1 frozen
deep dish pie crust
½ (8
oz) package cream cheese, softened
¼
granulated sugar
¼
teaspoon vanilla extract
½ (8
oz) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
16 oz
fresh strawberries, cut in half
Make the most of strawberry season while it lasts. It's one of the best times of the year. :)
Prepare pie crust according to empty baked crush package
direction; cool.
In the case of this one, poke it and bake it.
In medium mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar and
vanilla; mix with electric mixer until well combined and smooth.
My "electric mixer."
Add in whipped topping and continue mixing until well
combined and fluffy.
See? It gets the job done.
Spread into cooled pie crust.
The crust I used turned out a little dry and over-flaky. Chose your store-bought pastry wisely.
Top with strawberries, cut side down.
STRAWBERRIES!
Refrigerate until
ready to serve.
CHILLED STRAWBERRIES!
NOW YOU GET TO EAT THE STRAWBERRIES!
My Rating: 4/5 "A great summer treat. It's chilly and tart, and the pie provides a nice backdrop for the strawberry that really lets the fruit's flavor shine through."
