2 (5 oz.) cans chunk light tuna in water,
drained, flaked
1/3 cup mayonnaise
½ cup celery, diced
¼ cup onion, chopped
4 ciabatta rolls, sliced in half
8 oz. pasteurized processed cheese product,
cut in slices
Preheat broiler on oven.
Mix all ingredients except for cheese product.
Quick little tuna salad! |
Toast ciabatta rolls, top with tuna mixture on each
half and finish with cheese product slices.
No ciabatta rolls at Kessler's so I used whole-grain hamburger buns. An English muffin would probably have been a better choice. |
Place under broiler until cheese product is melted and
bubbly.
Make sure they stay a respectful distance from the broiler. As you can see, mine were much too close. |
Serve with chips.
Still tasty, though, even if they were a little singed. |
My Rating: 4/5 "I expected the Velveeta to ruin this but it gave a homey spin to a more customary tuna melt. The tuna salad isn't especially interesting, but with the cheese on top I guess it really doesn't have to be. A tidy little dinner!"
