Citrus-Ginger Sports Tonic

Better Homes & Gardens August 2021, p. 102

1 tsp. honey

Small pinch fine sea salt

1 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice

¾ cup fresh orange juice

½ to 1 tsp. finely grated fresh ginger

Optional: Ice

In a drinking glass, use a fork to whisk honey and sea salt into lemon juice until it dissolves. Add orange juice and fresh ginger and whisk again.

I made 1.5 gallons of this for a potluck, which involved a butt-ton of math. But using premade ginger paste made things a little easier.

Chill or serve over ice.

Pictured: Some of the amazing potluck contributions, including a Reese's cupcake, a matcha Swiss roll, and two tasty savory things.

My Rating: 4/5
"I was impressed with the nice accents created by the ginger and honey. They don't overwhelm the OJ flavor though, and the overall effect is refreshing. Stir it up well!"
