Slammin' Slimmed-Down Strawberry Daiquiri

Hungry Girl, p. 252

1 ½ ounces rum
1 packet (two five-calorie servings) sugar-free powdered drink mix (any strawberry blend)
3 frozen strawberries
1 tablespoon lime juice
5 to 8 ice cubes or 1 cup crushed ice

This was perhaps a poor choice for the recipe.

The Pyrat, though, is always a solid decision. Just don't try to make a Rum Omelette.

Dissolve drink mix into 4 ounces of water. Stir thoroughly.

In a blender, combine drink mixture with all other ingredients. 

Well, that's a promising shade of pink.

Blend to desired consistency.


Pour, add a straw, and slurp that baby up!

Actually drinking it is where things get problematic.

My Rating: 2/5 "This was vaguely disgusting. The combination of lime juice and Kool-Aid is weird, the consistency is weird (there's not enough ice), and and the idea that you're drinking an entire pack of powdered drink mix is just unsettling. On the bright side, you can't taste the rum at all. So... if you want to get knock-down drunk for slightly fewer calories than normal I suppose this has its benefits. On the other hand, you could really just save calories by taking shots."
