1 (16-ounce) package linguine
1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, finely minced
1 (15-ounce) jar, prepared spaghetti sauce
1 (16-ounce) can plum tomatoes, chopped,
undrained
1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste
2 tablespoons dry red wine (optional)
I thought this cherry tomato pasta sauce was neato. |
Cook linguine according to package directions; drain.
In a large skillet, brown ground beef. Add onion and garlic; cook until tender;
drain.
Such beefs! |
Stir in spaghetti sauce, tomatoes and tomato paste. Simmer on low heat for
10 minutes; stirring occasionally.
I thought it looked gloopy in the pot, but it ended up being a nice consistency for the dish. |
Add wine; simmer 5 minutes longer. Serve
sauce over hot linguine.
Pasta night! |
My Rating: 4/5 "I was a surprisingly big fan of this for all it's a pretty generic pasta dish. There was a pleasant amount of beef in the sauce and the overall flavor was pretty appealing. In the end it's just a big bowl of noodles, but it's a happy one!"
