Cucumber-Lemon Detox Water

HyVee Balance January 2018, p. 72

½ medium cucumber, rinsed and thinly sliced with a vegetable peeler

1 lemon, rinsed and thinly sliced

4 large leave fresh basil, rinsed and torn

1 oz. thinly sliced fresh ginger

10 cups purified water

Ice cubes

This part is pretty fun.


Place cucumber, lemon, basil and ginger in a large pitcher.

Fill the pitcher with 10 cups purified water and refrigerate for 1 hour. 

It's refreshing just to LOOK at!


Serve in ice-filled glasses. Store water in pitcher for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.

Served with some nice homemade... naw, we ordered pizza.

My Rating: 4/5 "This is everything you want it to be. It's not a flavor burst, but the lemon and cucumber add enough subtle taste to the water to make it a happy thing to drink. Since it keeps for three days I just kept refilling the pitcher for as long as I could!"
