Apocalypse Cakes, p. 110

1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix,
and all ingredients needed for baking it
½ cup butter, chilled
½ cup nuts
1 decorative lead pipe
Preheat oven to 350F. Grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Dump pineapple (including juice) into the prepared pan; spread it around. Then dump the cherry pie filling over pineapple however you want.

I don't often eat cherries unless they're fresh, but I decided I could do it in the interest of cake.
Next, dump the yellow cake mix over the top. Cut the butter into small slices and arrange fashionably on the top. Sprinkle your favorite nuts or whatever else you have lying around.

Slivered almonds seemed dump-y enough.
Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center
of the cake comes out clean. Place decorate lead pipe on pan and stuff with
cake chunks.

I don't keep lead pipe laying around but a metal souvenir cup from the zoo did the trick.
My Rating: 4/5 "My only complaint here is that I would have liked more equality in the fruit vs. cake ratio. This is mostly cake with a little fruit on the bottom. But the fruit is moist and nice - I want more!"
