Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Sr.Perspective

2 pounds lean ground beef

1 small onion, chopped

½ cup Italian-seasoned bread crumbs

¼ cup milk

¼ cup flour

2 tablespoon olive oil

2 cans cream of mushroom soup

1 small can mushroom stems and pieces

¾ cup water

1 beef bouillon cube

In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, onions, bread crumbs and milk. Using hands, shape into six patties. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Dredge patties in flour just to coat. Quickly brown both sides in hot skillet. Place patties in slow cooker, stacking alternately like a pyramid. In a medium bowl, mix water, bouillon cube, mushrooms and soup.

Gloppy gloop condensed cream soup

Pour over the meat. Cook on low setting three-to-four hours until meat is done.

There's still some mystery left here - maybe this will be interesting!

Aaand then it looks like this.

My Rating: 3/5 "This was bland and soggy and weird. Part of the problem is that the bread crumbs turn into mush in the slow cooker. Part of it is that there's no seasoning to add dimension to the flavor - like, let's have salt and pepper, at least. It's definitely filling, and it's not like it tastes bad or anything. It's just not incredibly interesting.
