Husband’s Delight (or Quasi-Lasagna)

Cooks in Parks, p. 96

1 ½ lb hamburger

8 oz noodles/pasta, cooked and drained

1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce

½ pint sour cream

1 can tomato paste

3 oz cream cheese

1 tsp salt

¾ cup grated cheese (mozzarella/cheddar)

1 tsp garlic powder

1 small onion, chopped

1 tsp sugar

Brown hamburger and drain fat, if necessary.

Add sauce, paste, sugar, salt, garlic powder and onion.

Simmer on low. While simmering sauce, cook noodles (drain) and mix cream cheese with sour cream.

In a casserole dish, layer noodles, meat mixture and cream cheese mixture.

(These are ramen noodles because that's what I had laying around. They worked well.)

Repeat and then top with grated cheese.

Say cheese! And eat it!

Bake at 300F for 45 minutes.

Bubbly, cheesy goodness

My Rating: 4/5 "Although the title of this recipe is gross in its gender role assumptions, my husband really did love this and it was easier to make than regular lasagna. Really my only complaint is that it's weird to get sour cream when you're expecting ricotta. You get used to it, though. In this end this is a nice amount of food for your money and the leftovers stay good for quite a while."
